Colombia Accepts Deportees After Pressure from Trump
Trump's deportation planes have landed in Colombia after a heated dispute with the nation's president. Two military aircraft carrying around 200 deportees landed in Bogota, Colombia's capital, after President Gustavo Petro initially refused to accept the flights.
Unbelievable Images of Deportee Flights
Colombia finally agreed to accept the deportees just two hours after Trump's threat. The planes, equipped with medical staff, fetched Colombian nationals from San Diego and Houston. Images showed migrants disembarking without handcuffs, with Petro emphasizing that they are "free and dignified."
Trump's Crackdown on Illegal Immigration
Following Trump's sanctions threat, Colombia caved and accepted the deportees. The US has intensified its crackdown on illegal immigration, with nearly 1,000 arrests made in a single day by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in 12 cities across the country.
Mexico Accepts Over 4,000 Migrants
Mexico has accepted more than 4,000 migrants from the US in the first week of Trump's presidency. Illegal crossings at the southern border have decreased, with fewer than 600 people illegally crossing on January 26. ICE is targeting alleged criminals, including murderers, drug dealers, sex offenders, and terrorists.
