Trump's Victory

Donald Trump has scored another win as Google agrees to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, aligning with the former president's request.

Google Maps Update

The water basin will now be displayed as the Gulf of America on Google Maps, following Trump's executive order.

International Response

While the name change will be visible in the US, Mexico will continue to see it as the Gulf of Mexico. Outside these countries, both names will be shown on Google Maps.

Other Renamings

The Trump administration's Interior Department also renamed the Alaskan peak Denali to Mount McKinley. Google Maps will reflect this change as well.

Global Naming Disputes

Google has applied similar naming conventions to other disputed locations, such as the Sea of Japan (East Sea) bordering Japan and South Korea.

Trump's Executive Orders

Trump, now 78, wasted no time in implementing his agenda upon his second term, including withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organisation, among other actions.
