SOME Zelda fans have already started lining up to buy Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
At least one group is already camping out in the street, hoping to be some of the first people to grab a physical copy of the game.
Fans camped at ready outside of the New York store.
They are currently sitting outside the Nintendo Store in New York with camping chairs, blankets and rain covers ready for the three-day wait.
The team has prepared to be sat outside the store for 72 hours until the game is released on Friday.
Posted to Twitter by one member, Alexander Pekala, the group believes there will be plenty of stock for everyone who wants to purchase a copy on day one.
However, the decision to camp out for the game appears to be inspired by hype for the most anticipated release of the year.
Pekala also camped out for the launch of the Nintendo Switch, claiming to be the first person to purchase the console.
The Tweet reads: “I made it to the Tears Of The Kingdom line at Nintendo NYC.
“10am today [Tuesday] till 10am Friday = 72 full hours.
“This will be the longest I’ve ever waited without leaving the line. Wish me luck!”
Camping outside stores before big releases used to be normal for fans of certain series.
Even celebrities have waited for game launches. Infamously, Zac Efron waited for hours for the release of Halo 3 in Los Angeles and ended up hosting the event.
However, as digital releases have become the norm, fans often stay up late in the comfort of their own homes to play the game at midnight.
Despite this, some players still prefer to own a physical copy of the game, and camping out for release becomes a nostalgic event in itself.
Anticipation for the latest Zelda release is currently at an all-time high, and this group will likely not be the only ones waiting outside stores.
