XBOX has revealed that the best-selling game of 2022 will soon be available for free.
Seven months after its initial release, it’s still one of the most popular games to play online.
FIFA 23 was the best-selling game of 2022.
Xbox and PC gamers, who subscribe to either Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or EA Play, will be able to download and play last year’s best-seller completely free.
FIFA 23 is coming to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
This means that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play the latest FIFA game on Xbox consoles and PC as soon as next week.
The Game Pass version will be no different from the retail version, with every game mode available at launch.
This includes FIFA’s most popular mode, FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), where players build their dream team and play against others online.
As online play is included with Game Pass Ultimate’s subscription, you’ll be able to play online modes at no extra cost.
If you can’t wait until next Tuesday to jump into a game, you can start building your FUT right away.
Those who download the FIFA 23 companion app on mobile or PC will be able to purchase and open FUT packs, and build their team straight away.
If you then link your EA account from the app to the game from Game Pass, you’ll be able to play with your team in no time.
EA Sports had a very public divorce from FIFA, and the developer’s new football series, EA Sports FC, is expected to be released later this year.
While there is no definitive release date, judging by previous releases, it is almost certain to launch around September or October this year.
This will still give Game Pass subscribers a few months to enjoy FIFA 23 before the next game launches.
