Sources say all options – like a ban on Champagne receptions and karaoke bashes – are on the table.

Labour insiders have confirmed that they plan to host their conference in full despite it taking place just days after Her Majesty’s state funeral.

A party source said the conference in Liverpool would likely start with a tribute to the late Monarch.

Meanwhile the Liberal Democrats have cancelled the first three days of their meeting in Brighton which was due to take place this next week.

An official in the party said the first three days would be called off, but hoped that some part of the meetings would be able to take place after the official mourning period.

It comes as the Trades Union Congress has postponed its annual conference as a mark of respect after the death of the Queen.

The Congress was due to take place in Brighton today.
