Home Secretary Priti Patel said the removals sent a clear message to those flouting our laws and immigration rules

The tally also included 27 crooks who had combined prison sentences of 87 years for crimes such as supplying drugs and people smuggling.

Home Secretary Priti Patel said the removals sent a clear message to those flouting our laws and immigration rules.

Ms Patel said: “Anyone who comes to our country in a small boat or other dangerous, illegal means should not expect to stay for long.”

Last week she struck a deal with Albania on the rapid removal of illegals.

She met with cops from the country on Tuesday to thrash out the plan.

Ms Patel has previously attacked Albanians for “asylum shopping”.

She said they tried to sneak into the country to join organised crime gangs.
