Suspended Reform MP accuses party big-hitter of disloyalty

Accusations and Allegations

Reform MP Rupert Lowe has accused chief whip Lee Anderson of disloyalty amidst bullying allegations, stating, "I thought you were a friend. Evidently I was wrong." This comes as Mr. Lowe faces allegations of serious bullying and threats towards party chairman Zia Yusuf.

Party Dispute and Controversy

The dispute escalated last week when Mr. Lowe, 67, referred to Reform UK as a "protest party led by the Messiah," a comment that was strongly opposed by Nigel Farage. Former Tory MP Lee Anderson mentioned that the Parliamentary party's functionality is hindered by Mr. Lowe's presence as a Reform UK MP.

Attempts at Reconciliation

Despite the conflict, Mr. Lowe attempted to reconcile by inviting Nigel Farage to dinner through a message on X. The situation worsened when claims emerged that Mr. Lowe had physically confronted Labour minister Mike Kane in the Commons last December, an incident that the MP claims was resolved at the time.

Police Involvement

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are assessing an allegation of verbal threats made by the 67-year-old Mr. Lowe on December 13, adding to the ongoing controversy surrounding the suspended MP.
