Starmer under scrutiny
SIR Keir Starmer has rejected requests for an inquiry into his encounter with Taylor Swift, as another minister becomes entangled in the freebie controversy.
The Prime Minister has opted not to involve the independent adviser on ministers' interests regarding the singer's VIP police escort for her performances at Wembley.
Minister caught up in controversy
Science Secretary Peter Kyle faced accusations of late declaration of two tickets and hospitality for a Taylor Swift concert, valued at £584, provided by the Football Association for the Wembley show on August 15.
Mr. Kyle only registered the gift on October 3, missing the 28-day deadline, shortly after emphasizing Labour's commitment to upholding ethical standards in public life.
Swift saga continues
Keir and his wife Victoria's meeting with Taylor Swift backstage at Wembley in August has sparked debates around conflicts of interest, as the singer received special police protection usually reserved for royalty and high-ranking officials.
While Tory leadership contender Robert Jenrick called for an investigation, the Prime Minister has reimbursed the £2,800 worth of tickets and hospitality he received for Swift's August 20 concert.
Number 10 has clarified that the tickets from Swift's record label were not a gesture of appreciation for the police security provided.
