Sharp Decline in Fines for Antisocial Behaviour

Labour Pledges to Crack Down on Yobs

The number of fines issued to individuals causing havoc in their communities hit an all-time low last year, as per new statistics. Data from the government shows that less than 7,200 penalty notices were handed out for acts of public disorder in 2023, marking a significant drop from previous years.

Labour's Response

In response to the alarming figures, the Labour party has promised to address the issue by hiring an additional 13,000 police officers and PCSOs to safeguard the streets of Britain. Shadow Attorney General Emily Thornberry criticized Chancellor Rishi Sunak for not prioritizing the crackdown on antisocial behavior, highlighting the impact it has on individuals' daily lives.

Focus on Making Streets Safer

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to implement measures such as hotspot policing and Zero Tolerance Zones to tackle issues like damage, theft, and street drinking. The party aims to restore safety and peace to British streets if elected.
