Tributes at Hull Minster
Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, and Keir Starmer are among the mourners attending the funeral of John Prescott at Hull Minster. The former deputy prime minister passed away in November at the age of 86.
Respect and Remembrance
The service saw the gathering of senior figures from past and current Labour governments, with Prime Minister Sir Keir praising Lord Prescott for his tenacity and vision. Chancellor Rachel Reeves and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan were also in attendance.
Fond Farewells
More than 300 family members, friends, and colleagues were invited to the service, where tributes were paid to Lord Prescott's contributions during his time as deputy prime minister under Tony Blair.
Legacy and Donations
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations for Alzheimer's Research UK. Lord Prescott had been living in a care home after a stroke in 2019 and passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
