A PARK in honour of ex- PM William Gladstone should be renamed after leftie MP Diane Abbott as part of a Labour council’s “slavery review”.
School pupils were asked to pick an appropriate new title for Gladstone Park.
The former shadow Home Secretary’s name was their preference.
Others suggested for the 86-acre space included Diversity Fields, BAME Park, Freedom Peace and Harmony Park and Rainbow Park.
About 300 aged five to 13 took part after reportedly being briefed by a race expert on the killing of George Floyd and “systematic racism” beforehand.
The school, run by Brent Borough Council in North West London, held talks following campaigns to remove statues of figures linked to the slave trade.

They were fuelled by protests after the murder by a cop of Mr Floyd, 46, in the US in 2020.
A dossier commissioned by the council named Gladstone among “historical figures whose views, in association with the slave trade, are inappropriate”.
He served four terms as PM from 1874 to 1892 and sought compensation for slave owners — including his father — after slavery was abolished.
The council said no formal decision has been made but Tories in Brent called the move “left-wing infiltration into our everyday lives”.
Cllr Michael Maurice said: “This could be considered at best political indoctrination and at worst brainwashing.”
