MORE than 1.5million victims of crime gave up on their case last year.
Around 900,000 victims of violence, nearly 100,000 sufferers of criminal damage and 75,000 sex abuse targets decided not to progress a case, Labour analysis showed.

A quarter of all investigations collapsed last year because those reporting crime pulled out — soaring from just eight per cent in 2015.
Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said: “Victims are being let down and criminals are getting off scot-free.”
It comes as Andy Cooke, Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary said police forces must “recognise the harm” burglaries cause.
New stats also show that in the last year there were 2.1 million violent crimes reported to police.
Yet only 5.2 per cent led to a police charge – down from 22 per cent in 2015.
This means over 90 per cent of violent offences did not lead to a charge within a year.
Shadow Policing Minister Sarah Jones added: “The public expect that when they are a victim of a crime, something will be done.”
