No10 has called on the BBC to label Hamas as terrorists, countering the argument that doing so would be biased. BBC journalists have previously used the term to describe other acts of terrorism, such as the 9/11 attacks and the Bataclan massacre in Paris.

A spokesperson for Rishi Sunak stated that Hamas is legally classified as a proscribed terrorist group. They emphasized that using the term "terrorist" is an accurate legal description.
