Internal discord
The Reform Party faced internal strife as Nigel Farage clashed with one of his MPs, Rupert Lowe. Lowe questioned Farage's leadership, labeling the party as a "protest" movement.
Farage hits back
Farage vehemently denied Lowe's claims, asserting that Reform is a positive party filled with energy and optimism. He even hinted that Lowe may have aspirations of becoming Prime Minister.
Call for change
Lowe urged Reform to transition from a "protest party led by the Messiah" to a more structured organization with a frontbench. He criticized Farage's delegation abilities and hinted at not running for the party in the next election unless significant changes are made.
Support from Elon Musk
Tech mogul Elon Musk publicly endorsed Lowe's immigration stance, stating that his viewpoints make "a lot of sense." Musk also advocated for Trump-style deportation tactics, aligning with Lowe's policies.

Reform Party's resurgence
Since its re-launch in 2021 as Reform UK, formerly the Brexit Party, the party has seen a surge in popularity. Farage's return as leader during the 2024 General Election further solidified support for the party.
Shift in support
Despite initially backing Farage and Reform, Musk called for Farage to be replaced as leader in January. This came shortly after reports of potential donations to the party from the billionaire. Farage's close ties to former US President Trump also came under scrutiny.
