A BREXIT—backing fireman has won a historic victory over the Remainer trade union which booted him off its executive.
Paul Embery, 46, was the victim of an anti-Brexit witch-hunt from the leftie Fire Brigades Union, judges ruled.
Now, he could be in line for a hefty payout.
He was ruled to have been unfairly booted out of his job of 20 years after a 2019 rally speech alongside Nigel Farage.
Ex-London regional secretary Mr Embery said: “My sacking was politically motivated. It is clear the tribunal panel shared my view.
“I will not be popping champagne corks. The union does many great things but here it was let down by its leadership.”
Over a three-day hearing the union had argued he’d displayed gross misconduct for going against the union’s anti-Brexit policy and criticizing those who were still fighting for Britain to stay.
An FBU spokesperson said tonight: “We are disappointed with the findings and we do not agree with the decision.
The union said: “We are assessing our options.”
