BORIS Johnson today praised the Queen’s “unifying” rule as he dodged questions on the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview.
It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex lifted the lid on their time in the Royal Family in a tell-all chat with Oprah last night.

The PM told the No10 press conference this evening: “The best thing I can say is, I have always had the highest admiration for the Queen and the unifying role she plays in our country and across the Commonwealth.
“As to the rest, I have spent a long time not commenting on Royal Family matters and I don’t intend to depart from that today.”
In a shocking and personal interview, Meghan revealed she had experienced suicidal feelings – but was told she would not be able to seek help as it “wouldn’t be good for the institution.”
Breaking down in tears, pregnant Meghan said: “I just didn’t see a solution.
“I didn’t want to be alive anymore.”
The Duchess said she begged for help from the Firm after struggling with her mental health – saying it was her husband who “saved” her.
She also said there had been conversations with Prince Harry and a “family” member about their unborn son and what colour his skin would be – and “what that would mean or look like”.
Asked whether there were concerns that her child would be “too brown” and that would be a problem, Meghan said: “If that is the assumption you are making, that is a pretty safe one.”
Prince Harry confirmed he had been involved in the conversations but said he would never share the details.
He said: “At the time it was awkward but I was a bit shocked.”
But Oprah Winfrey confirmed to CBS This Morning that it was not the Queen or the Duke of Edinburgh who made the alleged racist comment – according to Harry.
The PM was pressed directly on the incident and whether he thought the Royal Family were racist tonight.
But he would only reply: “The right thing for PM’s to say is nothing, and nothing is what I propose to say.”

But his minister, Zac Goldsmith, said today in response to the interview: “Not ‘Buckingham Palace’ – Harry’s family.
“Harry is blowing up his family. ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets’.”
No10 had said earlier the PM believed there was “no place for racism” in society.
This morning, Minister for Children Vicky Ford has said there is “no place for racism in our society” after the Duchess of Sussex said an un-named royal raised concerns about how dark their son Archie’s skin tone might be before he was born.
She told BBC Breakfast she had not seen the interview but added: “There’s no place for racism in our society and we all need to work together to stop it.”
The PM didn’t watch last night’s two hour sit-down chat with Oprah Winfrey, Downing Street said.
