Xbox Game Pass Overhaul
Xbox has recently announced significant changes to its popular Xbox Game Pass subscription service, leaving fans in shock. The changes include price increases across all tiers of the service and the removal of the beloved Xbox Game Pass for Console.
Long Wait for New Releases
Players may now have to wait over a year for newly released games, as the Console tier has been replaced by the more expensive Xbox Game Pass Standard. This new tier will no longer offer day one releases but will include online play instead.
Decrease in Game Pass Value
Since the transition to Xbox Game Pass Standard, users have noticed a decrease in the service's value. Previously, Game Pass added 10+ new games monthly, including day one releases or exclusives for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. However, after the changes, only three day one releases were added, all exclusive to Ultimate and PC.
Uncertainty for Standard Subscribers
Standard subscribers are left in the dark about when day one releases will be available to them. Xbox's Senior Community Lead for Game Pass, Megan Spurr, stated that some games may take up to 12 months or more to be added to the Standard library.
Frustration Among Players
Players are expressing frustration at the long wait times, with comparisons being drawn to the system employed by PS Plus. Xbox was previously known for offering new releases, but this change has left many disappointed.
