WARHAMMER 40,000: Chaos Gate is getting a reboot, almost 25 years after the original released.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is a turn-based tactical RPG set to launch in 2022 for PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The cinematic trailer dropped at Gamescom 2021 this week, and there’s a bunch of new screenshots to boot.
It’s suitably dramatic and shows the gargantuan task the Grey Knights are undertaking to purge the cosmos.
The story has been crafted by Aaron Dembski-Bowden, whose name will be familiar to fans of the series, given he’s written a number of Warhammer 40k books.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters follows the Grey Knights – a powerful chapter of the Space Marines – whose mission is to hunt daemons and battle the Chaos Gods.
A galaxy-wide plot is afoot to infect everyone with The Bloom – a cosmic plague – and it’s your job to thwart it.
Players will take control of a personalised squad of Grey Knights, with a choice of powerful classes, weapons.
As with any good turn-based tactical RPG, you can utilise the environment to your advantage, as well as targeting enemy weak points for maximum damage.
There’s not a great deal more info out there about the title right now, but expect the teasers and trailers to ramp up as we head towards the end of the year.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters doesn’t have an exact release date just yet.
But the store pages are live on Steam and the Epic Games Store, so you can follow them for updates.
