Top ten players in the WORLD as rated by FIFA 23

FIFA season is here and in just a few short weeks we’ll all be able to play the latest game, FIFA 23.

With not long before launch day, fans are getting ready by looking up ratings and choosing their player of the month.

While the Premier League ratings were available early, we now have a full list of the best 10 players in the world, as ranked by FIFA 23.

Here’s who the game thinks are the best footballers in the world.

10. Cristiano Ronaldo – 90 – Manchester United

Ronaldo is the oldest player in the top ten.

Placing number four in the Premier League, a one point drop for Cristiano Ronaldo means he only just makes the top ten in the world.

This change was expected though. At 37, Ronaldo is the oldest player in the top ten.

Joining Man Utd last year, he’s still been a strong force for the team, and remains their top player.

Despite the change, 90 is still a solid score and a good choice for any FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT).

9. Manuel Neuer – 90 – Bayern München

Newer remains one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

As the German national goalie, Manuel Neuer is thought of as one of the best in the world.

He brought back the “sweeper keeper” style of play, as he uses his speed to control the ball before the strikers get a chance to score.

Neuer was voted not just keeper of the year, but keeper of the last decade, and remains strong to this day.

It’s well deserved. In the 2010 World Cup he only conceded a single goal throughout the entire tournament.

8. Mohamed Salah – 90 – Liverpool

Mohamed Salah had another exceptionally strong season at Liverpool.

While he is a point down from his live ratings, he’s one up on his rating from the start of FIFA 22.

Goal scorers tend to rate high in FIFA. As Salah has scored 120 goals out of 186 Premier League appearances, his rating is definitely deserved.

He has twice been rated one of FIFA’s top three players and he’s deserving of the accolade.

7. Thibaut Courtois – 90 – Real Madrid

Neuer has Courtois to contend with with the Golden Glove.

Up one point on his rating last year, Thibaut Courtois has finally landed in the top ten in the world.

He’s the youngest goalie to represent his national team, Belgium, and was awarded the Golden Glove at the last World Cup.

Transferred to Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2018, Courtois has two Premier League titles and four La Liga titles under his belt.

It’s a toss up between him and Neuer but you’ll certainly want one on your FUT.

6. Virgil van Dijk – 90 – Liverpool

Van Dijk is one of the world’s best defenders.

Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk broke the record for the most expensive defender transfer of all time when he joined the club.

However, up one point this year alone, it seems he was well worth the hefty price tag.

In a team of highly rated players, van Dijk is the best. He was also rated the second best player in FIFA – the highest for an English club.

The best defender on the list, and one to keep an eye out for when opening FUT packs.

5. Robert Lewandowski – 90 – Barcelona

Despite losing a point on last year, Robert Lewandowski is one of Bayern München’s all time greatests.

The striker moved to Barcelona this season, and has already proved his worth to the club.

While with Bayern, he won the Bundesliga title in every one of the eight seasons he was there.

He was also runner up for the Ballon d’Or last year, coming in just 33 points behind…

4. Lionel Messi – 91 – Paris Saint-Germain

Messi remains an all time great.

Another player suffering from getting older, the former FIFA cover star, Lionel Messi, is down two points this year.

He transferred from Barcelona to PSG last year, and even with the ratings drop is still one of the best players in the world.

He has won a record seven Ballon d’Ors, with his last awarded to him just last year.

A list of achievements too long to write here, he is widely considered one of the best of all time.

3. Kevin De Bruyne – 91 – Manchester City

The top rated player in the Premier League, Kevin De Bruyne still positions himself firmly near the top when compared on the world stage.

Often called the “complete footballer”, few other players command the pitch as De Bruyne does.

One of his many skills is his strong play style even when using his weaker foot, making him a valuable player.

He already scored a whopping four goals in the first 24 minutes this season, in a match against the Wolves.

2. Karim Benzema – 91 – Real Madrid

Benzema has gone up in the ranks.

Long time member of Real Madrid, Karim Benzema has earned two points on his FIFA 22 starting score.

One of the world’s top goal scorers, Benzema is one of the best players at Real Madrid and helped them win the Champions League last year.

This win was by no means a first for Benzema, as it was his fifth win at the Champions League.

Despite his five year suspension from the French national team, he remains one of the world’s best strikers.

1. Kylian Mbappé – 91 – Paris Saint-Germain

Mbappé celebrates with his teammates at PSG.

As the FIFA cover star for the third year in a row, it’s no surprise that FIFA 23 rates Kylian Mbappé as the best player in the world.

He won player of the year for Ligue 1 for three years, and finished as the top goal scorer for the league for four seasons.

In the last World Cup, he helped France win a 4 – 2 victory against Croatia, and is the second teenager to score in a Final after Pélé.

Now 23, he’s one of the youngest players on the list, and we can only see things getting better for the superstar.
