A Pawsome Experience
In the last two years, I’ve had 15 cats pass through my house, as I take care of them before they move onto their forever home. I’m constantly surrounded by them, which means I’ve learned a lot about their actions and behaviours. Stray mimics this perfectly, with everything from making biscuits to rubbing up against someone’s legs animated perfectly.
Nintendo Switch Version: A Mixed Bag
Stray was first released as a PlayStation exclusive back in 2022, but it will launch on November 19 for Nintendo Switch. As a short game, it’s perfect for the portable console, but playing this way comes with its downsides. The resolution is very poor, and doesn’t do justice to Stray’s gorgeous neon-lit city. The tiny size of the screen can be frustrating, as it’s difficult to read notes that you pick up for clues.
Playability vs. Graphics
The Nintendo Switch version of Stray is certainly playable, and will be the version of choice if you value being able to play in handheld mode. However, if you care about graphics and performance, you’ll want to opt for the PlayStation, Xbox, or PC versions.
Final Verdict
Overall, Stray on Nintendo Switch offers a unique and engaging experience for cat lovers and gamers alike. While it may have some technical limitations, the charm and gameplay make it a worthwhile adventure for those looking to explore a dystopian cyberpunk world with a furry companion by their side.
