THIS week in Pokémon Go, the game has gone full horror in the run up to Halloween.
From October 17 to October 23, 2022, ghost and other spooktacular Pokémon will appear more often in raids and in the wild.
Pokémon Go is ready for Halloween.
If you’re excited to get in the Halloween spirit, then Pokémon Go has got you covered this week.
Here’s our rundown of all the changes happening in Pokémon Go this week:
Misdreavus takes centre stage in Spotlight Hour
This week’s Spotlight Hour will take place on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 6pm to 7pm local time.
Misdreavus takes the spotlight this week, and with so many around it’s an easy chance to evolve one into Mismagius.
There will be a higher shiny chance for Misdreavus during Spotlight hour, so it’s a good chance to catch a green one.
As a bonus, double experience points will also be awarded for each Pokémon caught.
Xerneas takes Raid Hour once more
This week Raid Hour will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 6pm to 7pm local time.
Just like last week, Xerneas will be the Pokémon starring in this week’s Raid Hour.
It will appear in five-star raids in all gyms during this time, with an opportunity to be shiny once defeated.
On Thursday, Giratina Altered Forme will take over raids, so this is your best chance to catch a shiny stag.
Halloween Event 2022 starts in Pokémon Go
This first part of this month’s Halloween Event starts on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10am local time.
From Thursday until October 27, Mega Banette will be added to the game for the first time.
Shiny forms of Noibat and Galarian Yamask will also be making their first appearances in the game.
Other spooky Pokémon such as Zubat, Gastly, Golett, Phantump, and Pumpkaboo will also appear more common during the event.
Go Battle League changes to Great League and Halloween Cup
The Go Battle League will change over on Thursday, October 20, 2022, 9pm UK Time.
This week Great League returns, but the Master League will retire in exchange for the Halloween Cup.
In Halloween Cup, only Poison, Bug, Ghost, Dark, and Fairy Pokémon are allowed to enter with a maximum of 1500 CP.
Taipei holds a Safari Zone event
Taipei’s Safari Zone event takes place between Friday, October 21, and Sunday, October 23, 2022.
There will be a number of special Pokémon appearing as part of the event, but even those not in Taipei can reap the benefits.
Timed Research can be earned as part of the event, with rewards given for the number of Pokémon caught.
