EPIC Games Store is shaking things up by adding new features to its mobile app for Android and iOS, including the introduction of third-party games.
Monthly Free Games
To mark this milestone, the mobile platform will begin offering monthly free games, mirroring the popular weekly giveaways on the PC version of the store. The first free game on Epic Games Store Mobile is Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, a tower defense roguelike game that is also available on PC and consoles.
Upcoming Free Game
Following Dungeon of the Endless, the next free game to be released on EGS Mobile is Balloon TD 6, with Epic Games teasing that it's "coming soon." This move expands the offerings on the mobile platform beyond Epic's own titles like Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe, to include games from third-party developers.
New Features and Updates
In addition to the free games programme, the Epic Games Store Mobile app now allows users to log in with an Epic Account and receive automatic updates for games downloaded through the store. The mobile app is aiming to provide a seamless gaming experience for users on the go.
Expansion Plans
While the app is currently available for download on Android devices worldwide, access on Apple devices is limited to users in the EU due to regulations. However, Epic Games intends to launch EGS Mobile in the United Kingdom and Japan by 2025, opening up the platform to more iOS users.
For those eager for more free gaming options, the latest lineup of Xbox Game Pass games is also worth checking out.
