However, there are some major ways that the newest Legend Vantage can be used to help you stay at the top of your game.

Apex Legends Vantage guide – How to get the best from the latest Legend
Vantage is the game’s latest legend.

Getting to grips with a long-range fighter like Vantage will be key on a number of maps, and this guide will help you get the most from the sniper.

Here’s everything you need to know about Apex Legends’ Vantage, and how to make her work for you.

What are Vantage’s abilities?

  • Passive: Spotter’s Lens.

This passive ability allows Vantage to know just where her bullet will land when shooting from a distance.

You still have to lead your targets, but it’s a handy ability for landing headshots.

The benefits don’t end there. You’ll also be able to see what equipment your opponents are using and how many are left standing.

  • Tactical: Echo Relocation.

One of Vantage’s unique features is her familiar, a bat-like pet named Echo.

Her tactical ability, Echo Relocation, allows her to move Echo to a new location, then jump to them as long as they are in Vantage’s line of sight.

Top players can launch out of this long jump midway to reposition, and you can double jump at the end.

  • Ultimate: Sniper’s Mark.

Vantage comes with a custom Sentinel sniper rifle which she can pull out even when it’s not fully charged using her Ultimate ability.

Your first body shot will put out 50 damage, and any subsequent hits to the same target will net 100.

Once you land a shot, your opponent becomes ‘marked’ allowing your teammates to take advantage of the additional damage.

What are the best tips when using Vantage in Apex Legends?

Knowing just what Vantage can do, here’s the best ways to get her into action.

  • Zoom without a weapon

Spotter’s Lens allows Vantage to zoom in even without a weapon equipped.

Simply hold down the aim button to get a good look over the battlefield.

The advantage of this is that Wraith players won’t be able to tell their teammates that someone is aiming at them.

You can use this before you aim down your rifle so there is less time for your opponents to react.

It’ll also help you scope out the best spot to fire from.

  • Be careful of that laser sight

The major downside of using Sniper’s Mark is that when aiming, there is a huge laser sight which gives away your position.

You can use Spotter’s Lens to help with this but the best players will want to use Echo to relocate directly after firing.

Aim to have your Sentinel rifle out as little as possible. Take a few shots and move on.

  • Use sniper rifles

While it is tempting to simply use Sniper’s Mark for all your headshots, this is not the best way to play.

Carrying a second sniper rifle that doesn’t give away your position is a huge boon for Vantage players.

Get the most out of it by equipping a 4×8 scope to your rifle to get in some good damage.

  • Build those shields

You can’t take out a whole team by sniping alone, as these weapons are too slow to pick everyone off before someone swoops in to revive them.

Start out by sniping to farm evo shield damage and upgrade your own shields.

Once you have boosted your shields with this method you can hand it off to your close combat teammate so they can delve into the action unharmed.

  • Use Ultimate Accelerants

While Ultimate Accelerants are key for Wattson mains, they are pretty handy for Vantage as well.

Her Ultimate builds up ammo slowly, and your first shot will only do half the damage.

Having an Ultimate Accelerant on hand will help you rack up those subsequent shots, and rebound quickly when you miss.

  • Place Echo with intention

Echo Relocation is a great tactical ability for escaping or flanking enemies, but it needs to be used correctly.

Sending Echo out early will alert the opposition where you intend to go which top players will be able to take advantage of.

Echo Relocation only works if you can keep your line of sight. So try sending them out right before you take the leap.

  • Always call Echo back to you

If you misplace Echo when you send them out, you can call them back to you to reposition.

Waiting for your bat to return can take some time though, so whenever possible, make sure they are by your side.

When you hold down the tactical button you will throw Echo where you are aiming and you can begin to jump before they even hit their mark.

This makes your positioning difficult for the enemy to keep track of, and allows you to gain the upper hand.

What’s the best team to use with Vantage?

No woman is an island, and Vantage needs a good team to back her up.

You’ll need a strong mix of Legends to get the most out of Vantage and here are our top picks.

  • Rampart

Rampart’s shields work well with Vantage, and she can take advantage of the damage from Vantage’s Ultimate and keep enemies at bay with her minigun.

If you are trying out this combination, just be aware of flanking enemies.

  • Octane

While Vantage can take the high road, most Legends are left on the ground.

Luckily, Octane’s bounce pads can help other Legends to reach Vantage’s sniper perch and help out.

  • Pathfinder

Another fighter who can take advantage of Vantage’s position.

Pathfinder can not only grapple to where she is, but also zipline your teammates up there too.

  • Horizon

The best part about pairing Vantage is Horizon is not that she can reposition your teammates.

Her black hole ultimate will pull in the opponent leaving time for some devastating sniper shots.

  • Valkyrie

Valkyrie has received some devastating nerfs, but she is still one of the best legends.

She can keep up with Vantage using her jets, fly allies skywards, and stun lock with her rocket swarm.
