Integrating Ledger Live with PayPal
Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has announced a new integration with PayPal, allowing US residents to purchase cryptocurrencies directly through the Ledger Live app. According to a joint announcement from the two companies, users with verified PayPal accounts can now buy Bitcoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin with no additional verification required.
Seamless and Secure Transactions
Ledger Live previously offered crypto purchasing options through various partners, and PayPal is the latest addition to this list. When a user buys crypto via PayPal on Ledger Live, the funds are immediately sent to their wallet, eliminating the need for a withdrawal process. Pascal Gauthier, Chairman and CEO of Ledger, stated that this integration combines the security of Ledger with the protected payment technology of PayPal, providing a seamless platform for crypto transactions.
A Leader in Hardware Wallets
Ledger has sold over 3 million Ledger Nano S hardware wallets since 2016, solidifying its position as one of the top hardware wallet manufacturers in the market. In May, the company faced some controversy regarding its secret recovery phrase storage service, which caused confusion among users. However, Ledger later addressed the criticism by explaining how their wallet works.
Future Possibilities
Notably, the joint announcement did not mention PayPal's recent announcement of launching a stablecoin called PYUSD, which suggests that it may not be available for purchase on Ledger Live at this time. However, this integration opens up possibilities for further collaborations and advancements in the crypto space.
