ONE of the toughest men to ever wrestle in WWE has revealed they are battling coronavirus.
Hall of Famer Mick Foley took to Twitter to announce he has tested positive for Covid-19.
And the King of Hardcore has been forced to miss out on celebrating Christmas and New Year with his family due to him self-isolating.
The 55-year-old, better known as one of his three personas of Mankind, Cactus Jack and Dude Love, has used his social channels throughout the pandemic to urge people to follow regulations.
Now he has shared his own experience of the deadly bug on Twitter.
He wrote: “I tested positive for COVID following a December virtual signing, and have been isolating in a hotel room for the past 18 days.
“Please continue to take this virus seriously – mask up, social distance, look out for one another. Wishing all of you a happy, healthy new year.”
His tweet was accompanied with a video clip, with the former WWE champion admitting he ‘could have done better’ to stay safe.
Foley, who was famously tossed off the Hell In A Cell by The Undertaker, said: “I want people to take this very seriously.
“I know that some will get kind of a kick out of me contracting the virus after being so adamant about wearing masks and social distancing.
“I did, I did my best, I — you know, I could have done better. I could have done no appearances, but I did cut back dramatically.
“I did four virtual signings, two reality shows, two personal appearances, a commercial, and one WWE event for The Undertaker’s retirement in – it’s almost eleven months.
“So I cut back dramatically, I had 12 COVID tests done and tried to take it as seriously as I could. But it‘s bad stuff, and I hope all of you will take it very seriously.”
However, despite acknowledging there are ‘some tough days ahead’, he urged his fans to take all the relevant precautions in the fight against Covid.
Foley added: “There’s a vaccine and better days on the horizon, but there’s still some tough days ahead.
“Please, continue to wear your masks, social distance, avoid travel if you can. And hopefully, we’ll look back on 2021 as a much better year than 2020.
“Wishing all of you the very best and hoping all of your days will be nice.”
