Employees of the airline made a video that can serve as an instruction manual during the coronavirus crisis.

The music video focuses on all the ways that passengers can be kept safe while flying across the country.

Real-life Alaska Airlines employees can be seen doing fancy dance moves in the one-minute video.

The video was directed by Warren Fu, who has helmed promos for such stars as The Weeknd, Snoop Dogg, and Pharrell Williams.

“It was refreshing to work on a project with some much-needed levity aftre such a challenging year,” said Fu.

“You can highlight the importance of safety and still have fun with it.”

He added: “I hope the uplifting energy and the enthusiasm showcased by our Alaska Airlines employee talent brings a smile to people’s faces.”

The video was filmed over two full days in the airline’s Boeing cabin trainer and in the Alaska Maintenance Hangar in Seattle.

A production crew of 40 people followed safety measures and masks had to be worn at all times.

Who danced in the video?

The performers in the video are are actual Alaska Airlines employees.

“Employees were chosen for the video in a variety of ways including a few from our Alaska Flight Attendant Drill Team – who dance through the streets of Seattle for the Torchlight Parade and other events around the country to represent the company,” the company said.

“Others were chosen based on workgroups, ability and willingness to dance, and leader nominations.”

A ground service agent named Michael said: “I never danced before in my life.”

“I focused on working hard at rehearsal and doing my best to keep up.”

What coronavirus safety measures should you take?

It is safe to fly “by following a layered approach using masks, hand sanitizer and air filtration,” according to Alaska Airlines.

“With our safety protocols in place, including mandatory masks, enhanced cleaning between flights, HEPA air filtration and touch-free technology we believe it’s safe to fly,” the airline continued.

The safety measures are emphasized in the entertaining music video.

“We can fly where you want to. We can leave your house behind,” a voiceover sings as masked employees show off their dance moves.

“But if your friends don’t mask and why don’t they mask, well they won’t fly this airline.”

More than 300,000 people have died from the coronavirus in the US, but a vaccine has been approved for emergency use.

“Whoever came up with the new Alaska Airlines safety dance commercial needs a raise,” wrote another.

The original song The Safety Dance was released in 1982 in Canada by the pop band Men Without Hats.
