Welsh shoppers flock to Cardiff city centre as England remains in lockdown

Hundreds queued to get into shops after two weeks of draconian restrictions in a separate “firebreak” lockdown.

Punters later flocked to the Welsh capital’s re-opened pubs.

Earlier, crowds flocked to Richmond Park in South West London and strolled on Tynemouth beach in the North East, making the most of sunny skies and warm temperatures.
