Woman Diagnosed with Cancer After Doctors Attribute Symptoms to Stress and Anxiety

A 24-year-old woman, Saskia Clark, who was initially told her worrying symptoms were due to stress and anxiety, has been diagnosed with cancer. Despite leading a healthy lifestyle, doctors attributed her symptoms of chest pain to stress, anxiety, and fatigue. After numerous appointments, Saskia was finally diagnosed with a rare form of thyroid cancer.

Long Road to Diagnosis

Saskia, a social media manager based in Manchester, expressed her frustration with the delayed diagnosis, which came 18 months after she first raised concerns in May 2023. Despite trying various wellness activities and giving up alcohol, her symptoms persisted. It wasn't until she developed other troubling symptoms related to her bowels that further tests were conducted.

Devastating Revelation

Following a full-body CT scan, Saskia was shocked to learn about multiple lumps on her windpipe, leading to a diagnosis of medullary thyroid cancer. Despite leading a healthy lifestyle, she emphasized the importance of advocating for one's health and pushing for answers, as she did for months before receiving a diagnosis.

Advocating for Health

Currently undergoing tests to determine the best course of treatment, Saskia is sharing her story on TikTok to raise awareness and encourage others to advocate for their health. With her posts garnering over a million views, she hopes to inspire others to challenge the system and push for answers when something doesn't feel right.
