THIS interactive map reveals how many coronavirus cases are in your area as the new mutant strain continues to spread.
Experts have revealed that the new strain is most prevalent in the South East and has been found in 57 areas across the UK.
Data from Public Health England (PHE) states that out of the 315 local areas in England, 285 have seen a rise in case rates and 30 have seen a fall.
The data accounts for cases between December 19 and 22 and shows that Thurrock in Essex has the highest rate in England, with 2,192 new cases recorded in the seven days to December 18 – the equivalent of 1257.3 cases per 100,000 people.
This is up steeply from 512.2 in the seven days to December 11.
Parts of Essex were moved into Tier 4 at the weekend after a spike in cases and infection are thought to be rising in Tier 4 areas due to the new strain, known as VUI-202012/01.
Havering in London has the second highest rate, up from 597.2 to 1190.9, with 3,091 new cases.
Epping Forest in Essex is in third place, where the rate has risen from 507.3 to 1146.6, with 1,510 new cases.

Experts at PHE last night revealed the full extent of the new strain’s spread, with cases in Liverpool, Leicester, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.
Locations near the cities of Leeds, Oxford, Coventry and Cambridge also produced samples.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to make another announcement tonight, just days before Christmas.
Both medics and ministers met last night to discuss the new strain.
The Tier review was due to be reviewed on December 30, but fears the mutant strain is now “everywhere” meant it was brought forward.
Trending In The News understands a “Gold Command” meeting of public health chiefs and ministers was meeting last night to sign off expanding the hardest lockdown measures beyond London and the South East.
Health sources said it would not affect all of England “but there are many areas that need tougher measures and are seeing dramatic cases numbers.”
ON THE RISE
Other parts of England that have also seen a rise in cases include Rochford, Castle Point and Brentwood.
Bug cases in the UK again saw their biggest ever daily rise yesterday after 36,804 new positive tests and 691 deaths.
That daily death toll is the second-highest figure since May and only five short of the 696 deaths posted on November 25, shortly after the second national lockdown was announced.
The figures have increased by 37 per cent since last Tuesday’s figure of 506 fatalities.
And positive tests have also nearly trebled since a fortnight ago, when 12,282 cases were recorded on December 8.
Meanwhile the total number of Covid patients in hospital climbed to 18,080 – the highest level since April 22.
The hospitalisation figure peaked during the first wave at 21,683 on April 12.
As cases and hospitalisations continue to rise, health chiefs have warned anyone travelling from Tier 4 areas or Wales to self-isolate, turn away Christmas Day visitors and “assume” they have the new Covid-19 variant.
Public health directors in the West Midlands and Greater Manchester asked people to self-isolate for 10 days if they had travelled from London and areas of the South East.
In Liverpool City Region anyone who had travelled from London or the South East to the area was urged to get a coronavirus test.
Director of public health for the Lancashire authority of Blackburn with Darwen Dominic Harrison told BBC Lancashire anyone who had travelled from a Tier 4 area since last Wednesday should self-isolate for at least five days.
The advice came after scenes of people packing railway stations in London hours before Tier 4 controls came into force at midnight on Sunday, prompting fears the more infectious new variant could be spread across the country by the travellers.
