EAMONN Holmes has revealed he’s got Covid and is isolating at home – despite being double jabbed.
The presenter announced the news on social media but assured fans he was ‘coping well’.
Eamonn, 61, wrote on Twitter: “Covid finally caught me.
“Thankfully I’m Double jabbed. More than Half way through my isolation and coping with the symptoms and effects well.
“Unfortunately I’m going to be a No Show for some Professional & Personal events. Just want to let everyone know why & offer my apologies”.
Fans rushed to send him their well wishes, as well as his celebrity pals.
Gavin and Stacey actor Larry Lamb said encouragingly: “Well done mate ..keep it up !!”
While presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba commented: “Get better soon uncle E x”.
Eamonn is married to fellow This Morning co-presenter Ruth Langsford, 61.
The couple have both spoken about the benefits of getting the vaccine, which cannot stop you from getting Covid, but can mean the symptoms are less severe.
Speaking on the ITV show in July, Eamonn said: “I know people who have been double jabbed and they have Covid and they were saying to me, ‘You would not want to get this’ so double jab is not going to prevent this happening.”
As Ruth clarified: “Not 100%, but it provides protection and it hopefully stops you getting very ill with it or dying, but it doesn’t stop you getting it or spreading it actually.”
The Belfast star recently opened up about his battle with shingles which left him covered in painful-looking blisters.
The TV veteran said he was left looking like something out of a “Hammer horror film” – explaining he jumped back in shock when he saw his reflection.
Eamonn even had to pull out of hosting This Morning because of the condition, which first struck him three years ago.
Shingles is a rash caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox – which lies dormant in the nervous systems of 90 per cent of adults – before being reactivated.
