Devastating Misdiagnosis
Five-year-old Bonnie Spence has been given less than a year to live after doctors mistook her deadly cancer as a 'broken arm'. The little girl from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, was left in excruciating pain because of a lump on her arm that turned out to be a rare and aggressive cancer called rhabdoid sarcoma.
Heartbreaking Journey
Initially, doctors believed Bonnie's arm was broken and sent her home with a possible sprain. However, the lump continued to swell, leading to unbearable pain. After a long journey to Newcastle, doctors diagnosed her with stage four rhabdoid sarcoma, resulting in the amputation of her left arm and a terminal prognosis.
A Family's Struggle
Bonnie's parents face emotional and financial challenges as they support their daughter during her final months. With limited income and mounting expenses, the family is navigating a difficult path to ensure Bonnie receives the care she needs. Fundraisers have been launched to help cover living costs and travel expenses.
