Who is Sajid Javid’s wife Laura King?

Javid first met Laura King at work when he was 18, and they married in 1997.

The newlyweds had their honeymoon in Israel.

Both were doing a summer job at Commercial Union in Bristol when they first met – with the new Health Secretary being trusted in the role of document stapler.

Javid recalls it being “love over a stapler”.

The pair have been inseparable ever since.

Laura, who is a businesswoman and social activist, was born and raised in the UK and studied English and Political Affairs at university.

While Javid is not a practising Muslim, Laura is a church-going Christian.

She is responsible for his razored scalp after convincing him that “bald men look a lot sexier”.

Javid told the Telegraph that their family had no issue with their differing backgrounds.

He added that these days a mixed marriage is perfectly normal and testament to the open-minded country Britain has become.

Despite the MP for Bromsgrove’s stellar rise in the world of politics, Javid has told how he guards time at home with his wife and children.
