She stated that their actions posed a grave threat to the American rule of law and democracy. Recent Activism and Arrest In July 2022, AOC was arrested in Washington, DC, during a protest on abortion rights.
She appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to discuss various topics including SCOTUS' verdict on abortion rights. Path to Congress AOC began her campaign in April 2017 and was elected to the US Congress in June 2018, becoming the youngest woman to serve in Congress.
She was re-elected in 2020, overcoming challenges and threats to her safety.
As for the future, AOC focuses on effectiveness rather than pursuing higher positions for titles' sake.
