HE’S the Government’s ambitious vaccine supremo credited with getting Britain’s world-beating rollout on the front foot.
And now Nadhim Zahawi has been given his own injection of pace – after getting a pair of jab-themed trainers designed by his proud godson.
The Vaccines Minister showcased the custom-made £90 Nike Air Force 1s as he urged Sun readers to get their jabs.
Crafty 12-year-old Felix decked out the flashy shoes in NHS colours and turned the trademark tick into a syringe.
Thrilled Mr Zahawi – dubbed the Vaccine Godfather – told Trending In The News: “I will wear these with pride, and couldn’t be prouder of my godson Felix.
“The real heroes are the thousands of health professionals who have delivered the vaccine rollout at lightning speed.
“It’s testament to their skill and dedication that they are inspiring children like Felix across the country.
“We’re making incredible progress, and I’d urge all Sun readers to come forward when they are offered the vaccine. It could save your life and protect loved ones.”
Mr Zahawi has been a familiar face on TV screens during the pandemic, regularly taking to their airwaves to trumpet the latest vaccine milestone.
More than 60million doses have now been jabbed into arms and ministers are buoyed by recent studies showing their effectiveness against variants.
Mr Zahawi’s relentless championing of the vaccine drive has seen him tipped for promotion to the Cabinet in the next reshuffle.
