The shadow culture minister hailed the British Council weeks after taking a paid-for trip to Tokyo by the organisation.
Ms West and Ms Nichols were also on the Japanese trip and both later banged its drum in the House of Commons.
After being approached by Trending In The News it is understood they have now referred themselves to ethics chief Daniel Greenberg.
An MP using their position to lobby for an outside company – from which they benefit – is against the rules.
