Matt Hancock’s affair with Gina Coladangelo rocked the Government and cost him his job

They want to avoid being caught on the back foot.

Party enforcers are said to have been given a rap on the knuckles for failing to be aware of Mr Hancock’s affair with his aide Gina Coladangelo.

The scandal rocked the Government and cost Mr Hancock his job.

He resigned as Health Secretary in June.

One source said: “They’ve told MPs and whips to be keeping a close eye on who is going into whose offices and so on.

“They don’t want to be caught out again.”

The affair made front page news as Trending In The News revealed the couple in a clinch in their office.

At the time, hugging was banned and Mr Hancock had warned people to stay away from other they do not live with.

Last week the father of three and 44-year-old Gina, were photographed together for the first time since the news of their relationship was revealed.

They were snapped enjoying a holiday with friends in a mountain resort in Switzerland before the return of MPs to Parliament this week.

Mr Hancock had been spotted in Cornwall with his estranged wife Martha earlier in the summer

He was said to be plotting a comeback after engaging with his fellow Tory MPs in a WhatsApp group last month.
