Reviving a long-lost tradition
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch recently met with the King at Buckingham Palace, marking the revival of a royal convention that had not taken place in 19 years. The last opposition leader to have a formal audience with the monarch was David Cameron back in 2006.
Weekly audience with the PM
Following the meeting with the King, Badenoch now holds a private weekly audience with the Prime Minister to discuss government matters. This tradition had lapsed during the years of the previous reign but has been reinstated in the new one.
Rivals and warnings
During a recent visit to a farm in Cheshire, Badenoch dismissed Reform UK as a "protest party" while Nigel Farage warned of his intentions to challenge her seat in the upcoming election. Despite being warned by Farage, Badenoch remains focused on important issues like the family farm tax.
