Rishi Sunak confirms RAF planes shot down Iranian attack drones targeting Israel to fight ‘dangerous escalation’

RAF Jets Take Down Iranian Attack Drones

RAF jets successfully destroyed Iranian attack drones in a recent assault on Israel, confirmed by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The PM condemned the attack as "dangerous and unnecessary," emphasizing the potential impact on regional stability.

International Response to Iranian Assault

Following Iran’s aggressive move towards Israel, warplanes from Iraq and Syria intercepted the onslaught unleashed by Tehran. The UK, in coordination with international efforts, managed to intercept most of the missiles, with additional RAF planes sent to the region as part of existing operations.

Efforts for De-escalation

Health Secretary Victoria Atkins stated that the UK Government is prioritizing efforts towards de-escalation in the Middle East. With concerns of further escalation, UK and US leaders are set to engage with G7 leaders to address the situation.
