Dozens more were seen arriving in small boats in Dover yesterday.
Police, meanwhile, have arrested a man suspected of playing a key role in the deaths of 27 people who drowned in the Channel last November.
The National Crime Agency said Harem Ahmed Abwbaker, 32, was held near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.
He will appear before Westminster magistrates today so extradition proceedings can begin.
French prosecutors have charged ten people.
