FIREBRAND RMT chief Mick Lynch is eyeing up creating a new monster union – causing misery for commuters.
The militant union boss is believed to be plotting a shock merger with TSSA, another railway union which has led mass walkouts.
Mick Lynch, general secretary of the RMT trade union. has led his workers out on rolling strikes
Lynch has masterminded a string of crippling railway strikes this year in the biggest walkouts since the 1980s.
But not content with his army of 85,000 members across the railways and buses, he is now plotting to swallow up TSSA.
If successful, it would mean future railway strikes could grind even more of the country to a halt.
Tory MP Jonathan Gullis said: “Talk about a hostile takeover – commuters are already being left stranded by crippling rail strikes.
“The last thing they need is for a new, monster union to be created hellbent on bringing Britain to a standstill.
“Many people will have their heads in their hands at the news.”
A union source said the RMT “seeks to develop better organisation of transport workers and work constructively with other unions in our sector”.
