MIGRANTS refusing to board the Bibby Stockholm barge have been told they don’t have a choice – with ministers blasting: “It’s not an a la carte menu”.

Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick yesterday said the group of 20 asylum seekers are in no position to be picky.

He warned they either move out of taxpayer-funded hotels and onto the vessel or face being made homeless by the government.

Left-wing charity Care4Calais successfully blocked the group’s transfers onto the ship moored in Portland, Dorset, citing a range of concerns including one’s “fear of water”.

But Mr Jenrick fumed: “It’s not an a la carte menu in which people can choose the particular hotel or location that suits them best.

“If you’re destitute, then obviously you’ll accept the decent accommodation that the state is able to provide for you.”

He made the threat as more Tory MPs rowed in behind their colleague Lee Anderson saying any migrant unhappy with their accommodation to “f– off back to France”.

Ex-Cabinet Minister Sir Jake Berry said: “In terms of the sentiment of that comment, I do agree with it actually, but it’s not the sort of language I would use.”

He said it reflected the “frustration of the British people that we are perceived as a soft touch when it comes to asylum”.
