George McAleese was reported for ‘racist’ comments on Facebook and sharing a picture of late MP Enoch Powell

George McAleese seemed to make a racist comment to a user named Ahmed on a post about King Charles’ coronation.

It said: “Your name says it all.

“Take the British benefits but deny the British culture.”

The deputy chair of Gosport Conservative Association, Hants, was reported to the party’s HQ.

The Royal Navy veteran at first insisted his comment was “tongue in cheek” but has now given his “sincere apologies”.

Ex-Tory minister Powell is infamous for his “Rivers of Blood” speech, criticised for directing hate at ethnic minorities.
