Concerns Raised Over Increasing Number of Gay Children Being Pushed to Transition, Says Equalities Minister

Exploitation of Gay Children

The number of gay children being encouraged to transition is reaching alarming levels, according to Kemi Badenoch, the Equalities Minister. In a passionate debate in the Commons, she argued that no child is born in the wrong body and that these young individuals are being exploited by those who do not fully comprehend their struggles.

Risks of Irreversible Decisions

Ms. Badenoch expressed her concerns about the rising trend of young gay children being convinced that they are transgender and subsequently put on a medical pathway for irreversible decisions. She emphasized that many of these children later regret their transition, leading to significant psychological and emotional distress.

Guidance for Schools

The Education Secretary, Gillian Keegan, announced that upcoming guidance for schools will not prohibit students from identifying as the opposite gender. However, sources suggest that there will be a "presumption against" social transitioning for children. Critics argue that a complete ban, advocated by some Conservative MPs, would necessitate a change in equalities law.

Concerns Over Trans Issues in Schools

Conservative MP Nick Fletcher expressed his apprehension about the current situation regarding transgender issues in schools, stating that he cannot sleep at night knowing that the Secretary of State allows it. He also criticized the teaching materials used in schools, citing an example that claimed the division of the world into men and women is a "myth."
