BORIS Johnson’s “Mr Fixit” quits as MP “with immediate effect” sparking a by-election headache for Rishi Sunak.
Conservative party chairman Nigel Adams has today resigned and will no longer represent Selby and Ainsty – a role he was in since May 2010.

It comes after former PM Boris Johnson threw in the towel last night
Adams was seen as a Cabinet enforcer and served in the Foreign Office, as Sports Minister and a party whip.
In a public statement on Saturday he said: “Yesterday, Selby Conservatives selected an excellent new parliamentary candidate.
“I’ve today informed the chief whip that I will be standing down as a Member of Parliament with immediate effect.
“It has been an honour to represent the area where I was raised, educated & I want to thank my constituents for their wonderful support since 2010.”
It’s just another shock resignation as MP’s throughout the party seem to fold.
It comes after Johnson threw in the towel last night alongside Nadine Dorries.
Announcing his resignation with immediate effect, the former PM insisted “I did not lie”.
Mr Johnson said: “It is very sad to be leaving parliament – at least for now – but above all I am bewildered and appalled that I can be forced out, anti-democratically, by a committee chaired and managed, by Harriet Harman, with such egregious bias.”
It came hours after he was handed the MPs’ draft findings that accused him of lying to the Commons about lockdown-breaking at No10.
Dorries, 66, who had been a defender of Mr Johnson throughout his time in Number 10, took to social media shortly after to announce her exit too.
She wrote: “I have today informed the chief whip that I am standing down as the MP of Mid Bedfordshire, with immediate effect.
“It has been an honour to serve as the MP for such a wonderful constituency but it is now time for another to take the reins.”
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is now facing pressures over a by-election – triggering an immediate one.
