BORIS Johnson will make a Covid statement to MPs today – after the UK passes 100,000 deaths yesterday.

The PM will speak to the House of Commons rather than Matt Hancock, who was due to give an update on the latest coronavirus situation.

The PM will first take part in PMQs at 12pm, followed by urgent questions at 12.30pm.

The statement will start at around 1.15pm.

He’s likely to give an update on the latest Covid stats – after the UK past the grim milestone of 100,000 deaths last night.
