He said progress to curb dangerous crossings has been “derailed” by comments from the likes of the Archbishop, who recently branded the scheme “morally unacceptable”.

Three officers were injured as their vehicle was reportedly pelted with rocks.
That same day a boatload of migrants rejected help from the French border force because they wanted the British Navy to take them to Dover.

Peers have also tried to block it in the House of Lords.
The High Court this year sided with Home Secretary Suella Braverman that Rwanda is a safe country.
