Xbox Drops a Surprise Free Game for Owners
Xbox recently announced a lineup of eight free games coming to the platform in February. Among the heavy hitters is the highly-rated Resident Evil 3 remake. But Xbox had one more surprise up its sleeve for owners.
Introducing Tales of Arise
On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Xbox Game Pass will welcome its ninth free game: Tales of Arise. This hugely popular JRPG boasts an impressive 87 rating on the review aggregate site Metacritic.
Not Just for Xbox...
What makes Tales of Arise even more exciting is that it will also be available on PlayStation Plus Extra on the same day. This is a departure from the usual exclusivity between the two services.
A Tale of Liberation
The blurb for Tales of Arise sets the stage: "300 years of tyranny. A mysterious mask. Lost pain and memories. Wield the Blazing Sword and join a mysterious, untouchable girl to fight your oppressors. Experience a tale of liberation, featuring characters with next-gen graphical expressiveness!"
A Long-Running Series
Tales of Arise is the most recent release in the long-running Tales series, which has been captivating fans since 1995. Its 2021 release was met with widespread praise from both fans and critics who had been eagerly awaiting a new entry after a five-year hiatus.
Play on Xbox or PlayStation
Whether you're an Xbox or PlayStation fan, you can enjoy Tales of Arise. However, there is an extra incentive for PlayStation players. In addition to Tales of Arise, PlayStation Plus subscribers will also get access to Tales of Zestiria, Tales of Vesperia, and Tales of Symphonia in February.
Unlock the Tales with Xbox Game Pass
For those who only subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, you can still enjoy the latest Tales game with your subscription. It's a win-win for both Xbox and PlayStation players!
