Xbox Issues Warning to Gamers: Save Your Capture Back-Ups Now!

Xbox to Delete Capture Back-Ups

Xbox gamers have received a warning that their screenshots and clips will be deleted if not saved within the next month. Last year, Microsoft announced the removal of the ability to store cloud backups, with changes set to take effect at the end of May.

Alerts Landing in Message Boxes

While the initial plan was to implement these changes in January, the process was delayed. However, warnings have now begun to appear in players' message boxes, notifying them that cloud back-ups will begin to be deleted from May 30.

How to Save Your Captures

To prevent losing your gaming memories, move your cloud-based captures to an external hard drive or OneDrive account before the deletion date. Follow these steps to safeguard your captures: Click on the Xbox button, go to Capture & share, select Recent captures, tap on Show all, choose the Manage icon, and then either Select all or pick individual captures to keep. Finally, copy them to external storage or upload them to OneDrive.

Remember to act fast, as the free version of OneDrive only offers 5GB of storage, which may quickly fill up with large video files. Ensure your gaming moments are safe and accessible by taking the necessary steps to back them up before it's too late!
