Xbox Game Pass Update: Disappointing Lineup Revealed Ahead of Major Service Change

Overview

Xbox Game Pass subscribers may be in for a disappointment as the lineup for the service in recent months has been lackluster. Despite being considered one of the best gaming deals, the service has seen few big releases and some popular games being removed.

Recent Changes

In July, Microsoft announced a price increase and significant changes to the Game Pass service. The cheaper Game Pass for Console tier was scrapped, leaving players with the options of subscribing to Game Pass Core with a smaller game library or the more expensive Ultimate tier.

Upcoming Changes

A new tier, Xbox Game Pass (Standard), is set to replace Game Pass for Console later this month. However, new game releases will not be available on the Standard tier. Players will have to wait for games to be added or upgrade to the pricier Ultimate tier for day one releases.

September Game Releases

Five games are announced for September, with three being day one releases not available to Standard subscribers. Games include Star Trucker, Age of Mythology remaster, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, Riders Republic, and Train Sim World 5.
