TONY Todd, the actor behind Venom in the upcoming Spider-Man game, revealed the title’s release date to fans on Twitter.
Todd shared a picture with fans of himself getting ready for a session of motion capture.
We haven’t heard updates about Spider-Man 2 in a while.
Believing the filming to be for the sequel of Insomniac Games’ 2018 smash-hit game, fans flocked to the image.
One replied: “Can’t come quick enough. Spider-Man 2.”
Only responding to express excitement for the upcoming game, the fan got far more than they were expecting.
The actor responded: “Looks like September! Massive publicity coming in August.
“Commercials start dropping in August so I’m told. Hold on to your … and hold breath!
“Gonna be necessary.”
Insomniac has not been revealing many details about the upcoming sequel, but we know that it is coming to the end of development.
It is scheduled for release in late 2023, but the exact date has not been officially named.
As there hasn’t been any major promotions for the game recently, fans still thought it was far off.
Recently however, many games have been marketed much closer to their release.
Need for Speed Unbound was announced just months before release, while Hi-Fi Rush was released the day it was announced.
The actor followed up the tweet claiming it was a “fever dream”, but didn’t delete the original.
He said: “No more hints about Spider-Man 2. It was all a fever dream.
“Blame it on jet lag. Who knows I might not even be Venom.”
